About Me

I’m Brian Illand, based in Belfast. I’ve spent over 20 years building software - starting as a programmer, and these days leading technical delivery and pre-sales for a Microsoft consultancy working across the UK and Ireland.

I’ve worked with Dynamics since 2007, and with Power Platform, Azure and Copilot through every rename Microsoft could throw at them.

Frictionless AI is my thoughts on how AI has changed the way we build software: real lessons from real delivery, with the friction taken out. No hype, no vendor pitch - just what I’ve seen work, and what I got wrong on the way.

Away from the keyboard I’m a distance runner, usually somewhere in the hills south of Belfast.
